As a new mom, I often found adorable baby outfits only after my baby had outgrown them. Conversations with other moms confirmed this is common—especially for organized, visual-minded parents juggling clothes from gifts, hand-me-downs, and sales. Rapid growth means a short wear window, and special pieces often get forgotten.
Quick Market Scan:
Few dedicated wardrobe apps for babies: Tools like BabyTogs and Children’s Wardrobe focus on size tracking and avoiding duplicates, but lack emphasis on visual presentation.
General baby apps don’t touch clothing: Trackers like ParentLove and Mango Baby handle feeding, sleep, and milestones—but clothing isn’t part of the picture.

From early insights and market scan, the challenge became:
How might we help parents easily see, organize, and make timely use of every baby outfit before it’s outgrown?
Key Pain Points:
Low Visibility: Parents can’t easily see all outfits or find key pieces without digging through drawers.
Poor Timing Awareness: Without knowing exactly when clothes will be outgrown, it’s easy to miss their short wear window.
Lack of Timely Prompts: No existing tool proactively suggests outfits based on growth and weather, or reminds parents to use soon-to-be-outgrown pieces.

With the key needs and goals defined, I developed interactive prototypes to explore how each solution could function in practice. The resulting design flows prioritize clarity, speed, and a visually engaging experience. These prototypes center around three core features: Wardrobe Inventory, Growth Tracking, and Smart Notifications.

Solving low visibility ensures every item is easy to see and access, preventing them from getting buried or forgotten.
Add a clothing item: After taking a photo, the system auto-tags the clothing type. Users simply add the size and select how it fits, and can mark items as ‘special,’ which will be highlighted in the wardrobe.
Navigate wardrobe by categories: Clothes are neatly organized into tops, bottoms, outerwear, and even an ‘outgrown soon’ section, making browsing intuitive.

Solving poor timing awareness gives parents foresight into size changes, allowing them to plan outfits before the baby outgrows them.
Create profile: Users set up their baby’s profile in minutes, so growth tracking starts from day one
Track Growth: By entering height and weight over time, users enable the system to forecast growth and highlight clothes that might soon be outgrown.

The project is currently in the usability testing and early implementation phase. Parents are testing the prototype, and feedback is guiding refinements before moving toward an MVP. This stage emphasizes iteration — validating the design, simplifying flows, and ensuring the app truly supports parents in making the most of every outfit.
