Through user interviews and analysis of existing Go platforms, I identified key barriers preventing beginners from enjoying the game. Most users found Go too complex to learn, struggled to find suitable opponents, and lacked guidance to understand their mistakes. These insights revealed that while interest in Go is strong, the learning and improvement experience remains inaccessible for many new players.

Complex onboarding: Go feels intimidating and hard to start.
Opponent mismatch: Players can’t easily find balanced matches.
Lack of feedback: Users don’t know why they lost or how to improve.
